New Universal Support Program for Children in Mexico City

The Head of Government of Mexico City, Clara Brugada, announced the start of the program "Desde la Cuna" (From the Cradle), with the aim of guaranteeing universal economic support for the first years of life of children born in the city. The plan seeks to provide infants with an economic support of one thousand pesos every two months during their first one thousand days of life, from birth until they are 3 years and 10 months old.

"And we will be working to achieve universal support next year, meaning that all children born in this city will have guaranteed support during their first one thousand days of life," the official detailed. This economic support aims to ensure that childhood has access to necessary health care and adequate nutrition to ensure a future in the best conditions.

The requirements to access the program include being a mother, father, guardian, or tutor of a child under 3 years and 10 months old, residing in Mexico City, not receiving similar support, and filling out the corresponding application. Additionally, documentation such as the birth certificate, vaccination record, and proof of identity and residence must be submitted.

The implementation of "Desde la Cuna" began with the delivery of support to 24,000 children in the capital of the country. Clara Brugada emphasized that throughout the year, it is expected to benefit 85,000 minors, who will periodically receive economic support. The goal is to ensure that childhood has the necessary conditions for healthy and full development.
